Congratulations on your new GentleGrow! Follow these steps for easy setup and optimal performance.

Kit Components:
5-tier vertical tower
Robust controller with 5 pump jacks
3 pumps (reservoir circulation, nutrient circulation, nutrient distribution)
Tube
Sprinkler attachment
Controller Overview:
Your GentleGrow controller is designed for maximum flexibility. It features:
5 pump jacks: Capable of controlling up to 4 pumps with microsecond precision.
1 default-on pump jack: Ideal for circulation tasks.
1 water level sensor port
1 micro-USB port
1 USB-A port to power an external device
This controller supports a wide range of pump types, including centripetal, peristaltic, and air pumps, providing robust solutions for varying nutrient, circulation, fan, air pump, heater, cooler, etc. needs.
Assembly Instructions:
Preparing the Reservoir (Bucket or Ceramic Planter):
Bucket Option:
You can choose to add a float valve and/or a water sensor for better water management.
For the float valve: Cut a 20mm diameter hole about 3 inches below the rim, beneath a handle.
For the water sensor: Cut a 15mm diameter hole about 3 inches above the bottom of the bucket, in line with the float valve.
Ceramic Planter Option:
Ensure any existing holes are sealed properly. We recommend using food-grade caulk (available at Home Depot or Amazon).
Tip: Allow the caulk to fully dry for a few days, even if the label suggests quicker drying times.
Preparing the Bucket Lid or Planter Cover:
This serves as the base for your tower.
If using a bucket lid:
Cut a 3 cm hole in the middle for the tower tube.

We also recommend cutting a 50mm access port in the lid. This allows easy pump servicing without needing to remove the tower. (not shown)
Tip: If the bucket lid is an awkward size, add a loose layer of crushed rock on to the bucket lid to provide a more stable base for the tower.
Alternative: You can also use plywood as a base, but ensure it’s properly sealed and treated for moisture resistance.
Positioning the Tower:
Place the 5-tier vertical tower securely on the prepared lid or cover.

Ensure the tower is stable and the base is properly aligned.
Feeding the Tube:
As you assemble the tower tiers, feed the tube through the center of each tier. Alternate the stacking direction so that each tier sits securely on top of the one below, rather than fitting inside.
Filling the Tiers:
Fill each tier with your chosen medium (perlite or LECA) until the level reaches about 1 inch (2.5 cm) below the center riser.
Perlite: If using perlite, be cautious of dust. Wear a mask and work outdoors if possible. If you must work indoors, lightly wet the perlite to control dust.
LECA (Expanded Clay Pebbles): These might also be dusty. Take similar precautions by wetting them slightly before use.
Attaching the Sprinkler:

Connect the sprinkler to the end of the tube by pushing it firmly into the base.
Secure the sprinkler to the tower by pushing it into the tubing ring according to the provided diagram.
Final Setup:
Plug in your pumps to their designated jacks on the controller.
Safety
If placing the setup outdoors, ensure your 12V power supply and extension cords are housed in proper all-weather cases for protection.
